Summary:

Spectacular sheer cliffs on a landable rocky world.

Description:

This system lies on the border between the Formorian Frontier and the Abyss, on the well trodden path to Beagle Point. On the surface of rocky moon A 8 f, a huge mountain range can be seen, dominating the northern hemisphere - even from orbit.

view from orbit

Dropping out of orbital cruise, a pilot is greeted by a sheer wall of rock, 5 km high from top to bottom, surrounded by higher peaks, with multi-level terrain and a wide canyon at its foot. The cliff stretches East to West for many kilometers.

Landing in the valley below (see the coordinates above), surrounded by the cliffs, the presence of local flora and the red-orange Ammonia atmosphere make for a particularly scenic location. This vista called to the discoverer's mind the Nordic legend of the Fortification of Asgard, the Celestial Stronghold of the Aesir.

Concha

The surface has plenty of similar features. Gravity is only 0.14 g, so navigating the terrain in an SRV is feasible.

SRV

The system was originally discovered by CMDR Rangatang, likely during the Distant Worlds expedition. However, this surface location was discovered by CMDR Aldebaran, during the Gates to Eden expedition in 3310.
