A gas giant with orbited by six Helium-Rich Gas Giants as its moons, with two nested moons that are also landable, with excellent views of the giants from their surfaces. | → | A gas giant with orbited by six Helium-Rich Gas Giants as its moons, with two nested moons that are also landable, with excellent views of the giants from their surfaces. |
DESCRIPTION | ||
→ | ||
The highlight of this high metallicity star system is its eighth planet, a ringed Helium-Rich Gas Giant that has as its moon six other Helium-Rich Gas giants. The sight of these giant moons dancing around their parent planet is already remarkable, but Commanders can witness this not just from their spacecraft in orbit, but also landed on the ground: there are two nested moons (8 b a and 8 f a) which are both icy bodies. Explorers can land on these nested moons' surfaces, and keep watch from the ground on how the gas giants go through their cosmic dances in the sky. WIP: another surface photo would be good here The name "Nested Wonders" refers to the orbital hierarchy of this place: moons around moons, within a family of giants, each nested like celestial Matryoshka dolls. To quote what the discoverer wrote in his journal: "I landed expecting a data point. I left with a picture for my cockpit's wall." | → | The highlight of this high metallicity star system is its eighth planet, a ringed Helium-Rich Gas Giant that has as its moon six other Helium-Rich Gas giants.
